CONSTRUCTION OF THE SAO 10” 'GARY BARABINO' FORK MOUNT CRADLE     Page 1 of 2

The thumbnails above depict the step-by-step progress of the Vega Sky Centers "SAO 10" 'Gary Barabino' Newtonian Reflector's cradle. The cradle was constructed from 3/4" thick 9-layer Birch plywood. When cutting this stuff, please use a very sharp blade to reduce splintering. To joint each of the pieces, I used quality wood glue and drywall screws. The screw heads were recessed in order to apply waterproof wood filler, or you can use wood plugs. To begin your journal through the construction of the cradle, just click on the upper left-hand thumbnail image above. I hope this information will aid all fellow amateurs in their telescope construction efforts. For design diagrams of the cradle, click on the "Back to the SAO 10" Home" button above.
