Here we have most of the
parts and pieces needed to assemble one of the two cradle rings for
the 127mm f/9.4 "BGRP" refractor. The components for each cradle
ring is as follows: Top and bottom cradle ring halves - Two hinge
plates - Two 1/4"-20 threaded pivoting rods to connect the hinge
plates - Four large, and four small washers - Four crown nuts. The
only items missing in this photo are the three dowel nuts; two of which
connect the cradle rings to the dovetail plate, and one that makes
up the swing-arm system for locking the cradle ring around the main
tube, the solid bass threaded rod and knurled knob. Now, let's show
you how they all come together.
