Right Ascension Axis Braking System is a simple one piece
slewing/ tensioning device that is made from three layers of
7/16" thick virgin Teflon sections sandwiched inside of a wooden
housing made from oak and walnut. With the use of long tensioning
screws and heavy duty springs, adequate pressure will be applied to
the 2" T-6061aluminum right ascension axis shaft making for
smooth and backlash free slewing. This system will soon be replace
with a custom clock drive created by Eric Moerman of Belgium.
