When it comes to putting the finishing touches to your tripod, the skies the limit. For me, I will use Minwax's Helmsman Spar Varnish to finish the VSC "North Star" Field Tripod. There are many other brands on the market, as depicted in the photo above. But, we preferred one that was applicable in marine environments. They hold up better to the elements and offers UV protection. You can also use the usual pigmented enamel paints as well.
