NGC 5139 (OMEGA CENTAURI) BY CURT WALKER

NGC 5139 (Omega Centauri Globular Cluster) as captured by Curt Walker

During a visit on 04-25-2009 out at the Chiefland Astronomy Village in Chiefland, FL, Curt Walker took this glorious image of the Omega Centauri globular cluster while doing preliminary testing of his new homebuilt 8" f/5 Astrograph atop an Atlas EQ mount. In processing 13 subs at 120 seconds each, Curt produced a fine image, which was captured during one of his initial tests of the telescope. Click the image above for an enlarged view.

M64 (THE BLACK EYE GALAXY) BY KEVIN REESE

M64 (The Black Eye Galaxy) as captured by Kevin Reese

This grand image of M64 the Black Eye Galaxy was captured by Kevin Reese on the night of April 17, 2009. A member of the group I call the "Photon Busters", Kevin share this great astrophotography moment with Curt Walker, and Carlos Solis while out on an case at the FarrOut Observatory. Kevin used his Astro-Physics AP140 to nail this awesome image. Click the image above for an enlarged view.

On the evening of April 4th, 2009, Dennis Farr (right side) of the FarrOut Observatory had the privilege to spend some time with David Levy during an appearance he made in Sarasota, FL as part of the 100 Hours of Astronomy. The young lady to the left of the photo is Tanja Diederich, who once worked at the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) in Tampa, FL.  Click the image above for an enlarged view.

COMET LULIN BY BOB STELMOCK

Here is a beautiful 15 minute exposure of Comet Lulin taken by my friend and fellow amateur Bob Stelmock while attending WSP 2009 on February 16, 2009. Bob took this image with his Canon 350 DSLR set at ISO 1600 on his 110mm f/5 William Optics Megrez refractor sitting atop an Atlas Equatorial mount. EQMOD tracking software was also used. Bob is a member of the Farr Out Observatory group in Florida. Click the image above for an enlarged view.
