construction of the VSC/ SAO 127mm f/9.4 "Brigadier General Richard
Pierce" refractor
started out with the purchase of a 127mm f/9.4 achromatic Fraunhofer
doublet sold by SurpluShed for a total of $164.95 (cost + S&H). I know I
could have just showed the lens, but I wanted you to see how it arrives
from them. As you can see, the box has a small label that says 127/1200,
which denotes the diameter and focal length of the objective.
