A view from the objective
end of the OTA showing the mounted vintage Carton 100mm f/13 lens
test fitted in the rear cell before final finishing. Upon closer
inspection, you will note that the rear cell is protruding into the
path of the objective's aperture from behind. This was a design flaw
on my part. One of the days, I plan to get this fixed so that I can
utilize the full light gathering capabilities of this fine achromat.
Nevertheless, from early assessments, after looking at distant
terrestrial objects, this is going to be a great performing scope.
Going forward, let us now get cracking on the interior components. |
