Next, a flat file was used to remove the outside edge burrs and to smooth face of the cut. Like the inside, a chamfer was filed around the outer edge of the cut tube to reduce the chance of lacerations and to allow easier fitting of the objective cell. The same filing process was performed at the other end of the tube for installing the focuser.
