This is a back side view
of the collimatable Lens Cell components for the Jaegers 6" f/10 "GJD"
refractor. From left to right are the transition piece, front lens
cell holder and retaining ring. The transition was designed with
simplicity in mind. The transition piece is beveled at a 45-degree
angle as it goes from the 7" main tube to the 8" dew shield. The front
lens cell design was made based on the objective cell on my Carton
100mm f/13 "Mary Dawson" refractor. Unlike most other front lens cell
support sections, my cell's collimation rim sits in front of the
objective. You will see what I mean late on in the build. Now, let's
check out the focuser. |
