As mentioned previously, and shown here, the threads of the objective cell retaining ring are being masked off to prevent them from being primed and painted. The same masking will be done to the front lens supporting cell threads as you will see on the next page.

Here I am trimming away the access painters tape from the retaining ring before priming and flocking.
