Guide Scope Restoration - Disassembled 6TE-5 with Paint Remover

In preparation for repainting, I disassembled the Tasco 6TE-5 Refractor completely. The components from left to right are the focuser housing, main tube, objective cell, focuser knob clamp, eyepiece/ diagonal retainer, and dew cap. I applied a thick  biodegradable natural paint remover by BIX to all of the painted surfaces. You can get the stuff at Home Depot. In most cases, it took two applications to remove most of the layers of paint. Over the years, the telescope was painted several times over preexisting layers. Though it took some time to remove the old paint, it was worth the effort.
