This
is the bottom section of the RA Support Housing. Once again like the
other sides of the housing, the bottom is made up of two layers of
3/4" birch plywood - glued and screwed. It is also a critical
component in that it will serve a couple of paramount functions. One
is to help in maintaining the structural integrity of the RA Support
Housing by preventing it from collapsing, and for attaching the
braking system, which will be covered later. To see the placement of
the braking system, please refer to the Right Ascension Axis Support
Housing design plans. The approximate dimensions of the Right
Ascension Axis Support Housing as shown below:
