Right Ascension Axis Support Housing - Bearing Mounting Holes

Once the hanger bearings are center on the front and rear panels of the RA Axis Support Housing (see pencil markings on front panel in photo) holes are traced for the mounting bolts. Then the four holes are precisely cut on a drill press for each panel. As noted on the previous page, the drilled holes are 1/2" in diameter, and since the inside diameter of the bearing mounting holes are 5/8" in diameter, shims can be used to center the bolts. But, may not be required.
