Here we see the Tasco
6TE-5's main tube sporting a new shiny "Sail Blue" painted
finish. What a dramatic improvement compared to the "before"
look! But, before paint was sprayed on in a series of three plus coats,
gray primer was applied inside and out and allowed to dry thoroughly.
Then, using KrylonŽ Ultra Flat Black Spray Enamel, the inside of the
main tube was flocked with two coats. Originally the inside of the tube
was not flocked very well, only possessing a dull matte finish to retard
internal reflections. Once restored, I should see better contrast on
bright objects with this small refractor. |
