As with
the main tube, the dew shield was sanded with 220-grit sand paper
and buff with a Scotch-BriteŽ scrubbing pad in preparation for
priming and painting. But before priming and painting, I thoroughly
cleaned the dew shield inside and out with a white cotton rage
drizzled with GooGone XtremeŽ remover. Looks great as compared to it
before appearance.
The
dimensions of the dew shield are 6" OD x 9" L x .083" wall
thickness, for which I purchased from the same place as the main
tube - Hastings
