Matching holes drilled down the middle of the dovetail bar to attach it to the dovetail plate... (Click for enlarged view)

 
Corresponding holes were drilled into the dovetail bar to match those made in the dovetail plate. A total of four were made. I was careful not to drill the inner holes too close together, which could have prevented me from mounting the dovetail plate on the equatorial head. No threads will be tapped into these holes. Now let us get back to the dovetail plate to add the cradle ring mounting holes.
