Mineral Spirit for cleaning after sanding of aluminum tubes. (Click to see an enlarged image)

 
Once the sanding of the main tube and dew shield were complete, I wiped off every bit of the aluminum dust and residue using a soft cotton lint-free cloth saturated with mineral spirit (paint thinner). Then I allowed the tubes to dry thoroughly before setting them up to be primed.
