After
removing the objective for edge-blackening, it gave me the
opportunity to prepare the cell to fit my 5" OD x .073" wall section
of aluminum tubing, since it was not a perfect fit. I, as with many
other SS 127mm scope ATMs have discovered, found the last 1.5"
inches right up to the tube stop of the cell's interior was smaller
in diameter than the main tube outside diameter. So, though I was
able to get the cell to fit onto the main tube, it would not slide
on all of the way to the tube stop rim. Therefore, a little elbow
grease had to be administered in the form of sand paper. Several
passes with the sand paper expanded the opening a bit and made for a
very solid fit.
