From the paper design I
created earlier for the cradle rings, I made templates with all of
the
proper dimensions. Using the
templates, I traced the pattern onto a piece of 3/4" inch thick
teakwood flooring that I found lying in the street. Teak is a very
durable and oily wood that can withstand the elements. Its only
downfalls are that it is brittle and is more susceptible to
splitting under shock and stress, and is very difficult to paint.
