127mm f/9.4 OTA Construction - OTA Main Tube Painting (application of paint 1)

The painted front end of the main tube... (Click for enlarged view)

Now that the primer has fully cured, several thin layers of RustoleumŽ Sail Blue (a.k.a. Vega Blue) enamel spray paint were evenly applied to the front end of the main tube. To allow easy installation of the objective cell, as seen in the picture about 1" at the main tube's front end was masked off with painters tape after priming. I did not need to paint this area since it would be covered by the objective cell. This prevents too much paint build-up, which will not allow the objective cell to fit.
