| To
begin the construction process of the Fork Mount, we started by
cutting a central 2 1/8" inch hole into the 3/4" inch thick plywood
RA Axis box's top section (23" x 7 1/4" inch) to accept the
2" shaft, and then the four 3/8" inch holes for the
installation of the flange. Though unseen in this picture, the flange
is comprised of a threaded 5" inch O. D. floor flange with 2
1/2" inch threaded center hole, and half section of a 3 1/2"
inch long 2 1/2 inch O.D. galvanized pipe (threaded on both
ends). The pipe can be seen in other steps as we go further into the
construction process. To attach the flange, a combination of 3/8"
machine bolts, standard washers, and lock washers were instituted.
