the cured epoxy reflects the flash bulbs light from the front edge of
the Sonotube. This down-the-center-of-the-tube picture clearly reveals
the areas where epoxy was applied on the interior of the tube. The four small dark areas
is where the spider vane will be attached, and the
large area on the right-hand side is for the focuser. Prior to the epoxy application, the inner
plastic lining was peeled off. As you look down the tube, you will see
the remnants of plastic liner still attached to the mid-interior area of
the tube, for which I was unable
to reach by hand. As mentioned earlier in this section, this area will
be covered by the sections of Sonotube® previously trimmed off and
slotted. |
