Fork Mount Base Construction - Installation of North End Panel Bracket & Accessory Compartment Door Divider

North End Panel Bracket (Click for enlarged view)

The North End Panel Bracket serves several purposes. One, it encloses the front end of the Accessory Compartment. Secondly, by the nature of its design, the panel bracket spans nearly the width of the Base Platform and aids in preventing flexure or warping at the front of the Base Platform. And thirdly, it is notched at the top to accept and support the front edge of the Accessory Compartment Door, for which a latch of some sort will be installed to secure the door. The North End Panel Bracket is held to the Base Platform using only two wood screws for which a   hole (one on each side) was drilled to accept a wood screw through the tapered ends of the Panel Bracket and then into the Base Platform.

If you look just  above the North End  Panel Bracket you will see the attached Base Truss/ Accessory Compartment Door Divider. I also serve a number of purposes. One, it is perpendicularly attached to the ends of the internal left and right Base Truss Arms as a divider, and secondly as a structural member near the middle of the base. Also, it will allow for the attachment of a continuous hinge for the placement  of the Accessory Compartment Door.
