Now that the Fork Mount Base main construction is complete, it is time to address the finishing process. But, before we go there, the mobility of this heavy instrument needs to be addressed. Therefore I decided to use neoprene wheeled casters attached to the bottom of the Fork Mount Base Platform Chassis to perform the job. The front, or north end of the mount will utilize two fixed casters, while the rear will use swivel type casters. The combination will allow ease of mobility over solid surface substrates. I am also considering constructing a mobile platform utilizing larger spoke type wheels that will allow the telescope to traverse over grass, and other soft surfaces.
