Now that we have completed the Guide Scope for the 10" Newtonian, we now had to find a means to protect the objective from dust and debris while being stored. The original dust cap was lost a long time ago, so I figured I would rekindle an old school technique Gary and I used during the early years of the Vega by building my own dust cap for the Guide Scope using cardboard and packaging tape. It turned out and performs great! Well, this concludes the restoration process of the Tasco 6TE-5 50mm f/12 Refractor Guide Scope. We hope the information contained here and elsewhere on our astronomical WebHub will benefit the astronomical community as much as we have in sharing it. In the last section covering the construction of the VSC/ SAO 10" f/5.6 "Gary Barabino" Fork Mounted Newtonian reflector, we will move on to the last phase of this auspicious project by performing the OTA finishing and assembly.
