A side
view image of the 127mm's objective cell reveals its overall
profile. The left contoured end is the transition rim. It is the
only part of the cell visible when the telescope is seen from its
side. The 6" OD x 9" L x .083" wall dew shield will fit over the
embossed ribs and extends past the remainder of the cell on the
right end. The black ring on the right edge is the screw on
retaining ring that holds the achromatic elements in place.
NEVER
OVER TIGHTEN THE RETAINER RING... YOU CAN CAUSE CHIPPING AND/ OR NOT
ALLOW THE LENS TO EXPAND AND CONTACT DURING ACCLIMATION !!!
