This side view of the rear
cell for the Carton's 100mm f/13 front cell reveals a beefy unit. It
actually added quite a bit of weight to the objective end of the
OTA. So much that when the finish scope was laid in its cradle, a
significant longer amount of the scope resided on the focuser side
of the cradle as compared to the objective end. The rear cell could
have been much lighter if I would have factor in more material
removed from the area that will be covered by the dew shield. Oh
well, it still turned out great. And because it turned out so well,
it will not be painted to show off Brian's great craftsmanship, as
you will see later. |
