| We
begin the construction of the Fork Mount Base by starting with the
base platform. The elongated triangular shape of this piece of 3/4
inch birch plywood will lend stability to the overall telescope, by
allowing the center of gravity to be concentrated at a specific and
stronger supporting spot on the platform. As you will see in the next
step, the chassis will attached to this section. The dimensions of
this piece is approximately 37.5 inches long by 32 inches at the north
end (bottom). The south end (top) of this piece is about 14.5 inches
