Glued, clamped, and pre-drilled for the acceptance of wood screws, here
we see one of the thickening braces used at the tips of the Declination
Axis Arm. With one for each arm tip, they will provide additional
spacing between the small inside and outside hanger bearings, as
well as strength. The bearings accept 5/8" inch precision ground shafts.
The bearing atop the brace has not been attached as of yet. It is placed
on the brace to show where it will be mounted.
