The idea of integrating an accessory compartment into the fork mount construction has always been a "must have" feature for the telescope. In laying out the design of the base, it allowed for this addition as a means of reducing additional baggage. The compartment interior will measure approximately 4D x 12W x 12L inches. Sufficient space for eyepieces, filters, maps and other equipment. The door will be embellished with the Vega Sky Center's logo as a nice esthetic touch.
