When
initially designed in 1970, the
logo of the Vega Sky Center started out as a standard block style
"V" back when we were the Vega Astronomical Observatory. But,
around 1972, it was upgraded to the current more stylish "V" once the SAO (Sirius Astronomical
Observatory) was established. Here I have captured the subtle curves of the
VSC's logo in wood. The logo will be attached to the top of the Accessory
Door along with a solid oak handle. Each piece was cut from a piece of
thin 1/4 inch "Lau on"
plywood using my 10 inch bandsaw with a 1/8 inch blade. A nice compliment to the
overall look of the scope.
