Understanding that there will be a great deal of weight transferred to the Base Platform as rendered by the Fork Head and OTA, I decided to make the RA Truss Arms of double-layered 3/4" plywood in strategic areas for strength reliability - mainly where the RA Axis Support Housing will attach between them. The above photo shows the Truss Arms glued and clamped. Once the adhesive has cured, woodscrews will be used to further secure the layers. If you look closely (click the image for an enlarged view) you will note that one of the layers on each Truss Arm ends approximately 12" before reaching the front end (narrow end) of it. This denotes the end of the internal layer where the Accessory Compartment Door Divider will be attached. The upper tips of the Truss Arms are angled to about 30 degrees, which corresponds to the latitude New Orleans, LA. These components will be attached to the Base Platform using dowel-nuts and bolts.
