Getting ready to sand away the labels from the CD's. Partial sanded CD label. CDs sanded smooth and ready for pairing to form four individual baffles. CDs stacked and glued in pairs on a CD package stand. CD pairs cured and ready to be cut to form the knife-edge baffles. A glued pair of CDs taped to the drill press table to have its knife-edge formed.
The beveled knife-edge cut into on of the four baffles. Backer board were cut from luan plywood to help support the limp CD knife-edge baffles. All eight baffle components. Components for one baffles ready for assembly. Baffle component pairs glued together-front. Baffle component pairs glued together-back.
Baffle peg supports used to keep the baffles perpendicular to the tube. Peg supports installed on all four baffles Baffles primed and ready for ultra-flat black spray paint. Baffles painted with KrylonŽ ultra-flat black spray enamel paint. Close-up of the back of one of the finished baffles to show detail. Positioning the first baffle inside of the main tube. First baffle tacked in place with construction adhesive. First baffle caulked into place. The front inside portion of the main tube primed. The rear inside portion of the first baffle in the main tube primed. Second baffle installed and caulked.
The third baffle installed caulked and spray painted with gray primer. The third baffle installed caulked and spray painted with gray primer. The fourth baffle installed and caulked. Ready for priming and painting. The fourth baffle installed, caulked, primed and painted. All baffles installed! Turned out great!
